The Player Development Committee (PDC) is a sub committee to the MYHA Board of Directors and is the led by the VP of Hockey Operations. The PDC is made up of a cross-functional group of coaches with various backgrounds and levels of experience. They are responsible for the development of our skaters and coaches which includes the recruiting and selecting of MYHA coaches and team managers.
Make hockey more FUN for the kids
Improve participation and retention rates for the organization, including participation for girls and boys
Better skill development for the kids
Develop more competitive High School teams
Develop, set expectations, and hold coaches accountable to help ensure previous points
Pursuit of the model USA hockey organization following the American development model
Train and educate the organization - Board, Parents, and Coaches
Also, it was agreed that the Chippewa Valley co-op girls hockey program is out of scope for this committee due to the current structure of the co-op between MYHA and Chippewa Falls Hockey Association.
The Player Development Committee has been hard at work preparing for the 2018-2019 hockey season.
The MYHA Hockey Board Association By Laws state that coaches are to be selected and interviewed by the Board approved Coaches Committee.
The Coaching and Team Manager process are noted below with requirements outlined on the Requirement tab. All coaches and team managers must be approved by the MYHA Board of Directors.
